An entrance gate, at dawn, emerging dew. The camera is slowly moving towards it. In sound we hear nature awaken and through it creak we see the gate. Here, right in front of me, opens the world that remained closed for such a long time.
Never was the start of the amateur soccer season such an exciting one. After almost six months of no competition due to COVID-19, the soccer clubs reopened their entrance gates. The KNVB was aware of this special moment and wanted to welcome back the amateur players.
And so we went on a little road trip through the Netherlands along varied landscapes and cities to find the perfect mixture of entrance gates, soccer fields and players. It created a strong sense of recognizability and nostalgia.
On behalf of all entrance gates in the Netherlands, acknowledged specialists in opening: lots of fun and luck during this special season.
